Hi there. My name is Eric Jacobson and I am irx LLC.
If you’re reading this, you’ve figured it out – irx LLC isn’t some big firm buckling under its own weight with too many employees.
It’s just me. Eric. “Irk.”
Yes, you pronounce the name “irx” as “Irk’s.” As in: “Eric’s company.” Irk was a nickname of mine in high school, and, for some reason, the company name stuck.
My first venture as irx was website design in the late 90s. I learned a lot in those days – I worked for a few companies, and made the mistake of working for an Internet startup right before the bust – oops!
I have a few degrees (a B.A. in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and a M.A. in Public Communication Studies from Syracuse University), and although I learned a lot in school, the most important thing I learned was how to be myself.
So, what do you get if you hire me?
You get a jack of all trades who is nimble and quick. I like to think of myself as agile though I refuse to refer to myself as a “ninja” like so many goofy kids are doing these days.
I know and work with a few great people who are great at what they do, so if I can’t directly do the work you’re looking for, I’ll make sure it gets done by someone you can trust (because I trust them, too).
My experience is wide and varied. I started my career helping an ISP create a department to offer website services with absolutely no budget – and it worked! I’ve gotten my own business off the ground (and then sold it). I’m a master of presentation, having presented to groups of all sizes – large and small – anything from a short presentation to multi-hour seminars.
I’ve been an on-air persona on radio and TV, and can also handle newspaper interviews (for however much longer they stay with us). I’m capable of handling a communications crisis, no matter what it is, and I can be available whenever you need me.
Do you need to know what the best computer setup is for your company? I’ve got you covered. Website hosting provider? Natch. Need a website designed? No worries, I know people.
How about marketing and development? If you feel like your business has become stagnant, you should give me a call and we should hang out for an hour or two. Most of the time, I can see what your business’s next step is before you do. Not because I’m a genius, but more because I’m not directly in it like you are.
Give me a try.
Whether you’re looking for business consulting, communications strategy, or help with your information technology, give me a call or send me an email. I promise I’ll work my hardest to give your business the expertise it needs and deserves.
